Tasmania Health Services
Tasmania does not have a formal Child Protection Medical service but does have interested paediatricians who are keen to develop such a service and are advocating the Government for appropriate funding.
Contact closest hospital switchboard to discuss with paediatrician on call; local management with transfer to Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) if neurosurgery or NICU/ PICU service are required.
Closest tertiary Child Protection service – Victorian Forensic Paediatric Medical Service (VFPMS) in Victoria is able to offer paediatricians advice.
