Fabricated or induced illness by carer (FIIC) is one end of the spectrum of abnormal health seeking behaviour where each case poses its own unique set of circumstances. The presentation of FIIC can be vague and sometimes perplexing, which can lead to inadvertent delays in identification, and possible additional harm to the child. This webinar highlighted some of the challenges in approaching FIIC through a series of case examples and discussed the model of care for fabricated and induced illness by carer in the Child Protection Unit at the Children’s Hospital, Westmead.
